News Release - March 6, 2006 DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR GOVERNMENT FUEL OIL AND PROPANE HEATING GRANT
Saskatchewan residents applying for a one-time grant of $200 as part of the Energy Share program have until March 31st, 2006 to get in their applications.
Energy Share provides help to Saskatchewan businesses and residences using fuel oil or propane as the primary heating source for their principal residence and/or business to reduce heating costs. Grant applications have been available since January 1st, 2006. The program has proven to be very popular for residents and businesses with 11,000 applications received to date. March 31st, 2006 is the deadline to get applications in along with an invoice or receipt from a fuel oil or propane dealer. Application forms are available at municipal offices, bulk fuel dealers, First Nations band offices, and Rural Development offices. Forms are also available on-line at www.ir.gov.sk.ca. Applicants can also call 1-877-UESHARE (837-4273) toll-free to get an application form or ask questions about the grant. Only principal residences and businesses using fuel oil or propane as their primary heating source are eligible for the grant. Cottages or seasonal dwellings are not eligible. Saskatchewan residents whose heating costs are fully paid for by provincial or federal government programs, such as Social Assistance Programs or Transition Employment Allowance, are not eligible for the grant. -30- For More Information, Contact:
