News Release - July 19, 2012 GOVERNMENT OF SASKATCHEWAN CONGRATULATES CHIEF ATLEOThe Government of Saskatchewan congratulates Shawn A-in-chut Atleo on his re-election yesterday as National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. "Closing the education gap between First Nations and non-First Nations people in Saskatchewan is an important priority for this government," Premier Brad Wall said. "The leadership demonstrated by Chief Atleo on First Nations education in his first term is truly appreciated, and we look forward to continuing to work with Chief Atleo and other First Nations leaders to address areas of shared priorities." Those shared priorities include enhancing early childhood and educational programs and expanding training opportunities to ensure that First Nations people and all citizens have the opportunity to reach their potential and benefit from the province's prosperity.
