HIGH COUNTRY BUILDINGS BY SIZE INC. PLEADS GUILTY TO LABOUR STANDARDS VIOLATION

High Country Buildings By Size Inc., of Perdue, Saskatchewan pleaded guilty to two separate offences under The Labour Standards Act.

The company was charged with two counts of failure to provide payroll records upon demand by a Labour Standards Officer under Section 66(c).

Fines of $300 and a $60 surcharge for each offence were assessed for a total fine of $720.

The Labour Standards Branch of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations, as well as other labour legislation. Whenever necessary, violations will be prosecuted.

In the past ten months, eight employers have been convicted for violating different provisions of the legislation. Six additional prosecutions against employers are currently pending.
