UPGRADING GULL LAKE SCHOOL

The provincial government is investing $247,000 on renovations to Gull Lake School in the Gull Lake School Division.

"We are investing in schools, in students, and in the future of Saskatchewan," Learning Minister Judy Junor said.

The Gull Lake School Division will use the funds to continue renovations to the resource centre and administration area at Gull Lake School, and to complete the school's 2002 renovation to the music and practical arts room by constructing moveable storage units. The project will be cost-shared with the Gull Lake School Division.

"With the $36 million in the Saskatchewan Learning K-12 capital budget, which includes $4.6 million from the Centenary Fund, approximately 140 K-12 school construction, renovation or upgrading projects will be funded in communities around the province this year," Junor said.

Additional projects in other school divisions throughout the province will be announced over the remainder of the fiscal year to March 31st, 2004.

"This school improvement project is part of the government's commitment to invest in modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students," Junor said. "Investing in education enriches our communities and ensures a wide open future for Saskatchewan students."
