News Release - September 28, 2000 SIAST WASCANA CAMPUS OFFICIALLY OPEN
For the first time, the campus brings together more than 2,000 full-time and
8,000 part-time students, and 350 employees. SIAST Wascana is in Regina's Knowledge Corridor, which includes the University of Regina and the Regina Research Park. "Saskatchewan people have always placed a high value on education, training and innovation," Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training Minister Glenn Hagel said. "This is an investment that promotes our values and builds our future, preparing students for a growing and changing job market." "We take great pride in our new campus, not only the magnificent building but also the vibrant community of students, faculty and staff," SIAST President Art Knight said. "Today is truly a landmark event in the life of SIAST Wascana Campus." SIAST Wascana campus is the only technical institute in the west located near a university and a research park.
