News Release - March 30, 2007 EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO SCHOOLS CONTINUES TO SPREAD MUSIC EVENT EXCITEMENTWorkshops planned for over 70 schools across Saskatchewan are continuing to generate excitement over the four major music events coming to Saskatchewan in 2007. Students from across the province are getting the chance to meet and learn from some of the province’s most promising musicians. Saskatchewan Creative Music 2007 Inc. is participating with the province to deliver the program. “Saskatchewan Creative Music 2007 Inc. is proud to take part in this initiative,” Saskatchewan Creative Music 2007 Inc. president J.P. Ellson, said. “With great upcoming events, Saskatchewan’s music industry is poised to leap onto the national stage. There’s never been a better time for our youth to become a part of the industry.” The workshop series also provides the opportunity to mentor younger artists and promote Saskatchewan talent to the next generation of Saskatchewan audiences. “I've noticed that the outreach education tour is creating connections and building relationships between musicians, schools, students and communities,” solo artist Carrie Catherine said. “School administrators really see the value of putting children and musicians together.” The Music In Schools Outreach Tour is fully subscribed, with schools selected to participate across Saskatchewan, including schools on reserves. -30- For more information, contact: Aidan Morgan |
