News Release - July 15, 2003 PREMIER BEGINS THIRD ANNUAL \"DIALOGUE WITH SASKATCHEWAN\"
Premier Lorne Calvert is set to embark on the third annual "Dialogue with Saskatchewan" bus tour which kicks off in Pilot Butte at the Turn of the Century General Store on Thursday, July 17th.
Over the next three weeks, the bus tour will take the Premier and other Cabinet Ministers to a variety of communities across the province, where they will participate in events and speak with Saskatchewan people about issues ranging from health care and transportation to agriculture. "I started the tradition of a summer bus tour to hear firsthand the ideas and suggestions that Saskatchewan people have for our province," Premier Calvert said. "It has proven to be a tremendous benefit to meet with and listen to people in their own communities about the issues that are important to them." During the first week, the tour will travel throughout the southeast, including stops at Pilot Butte, Melville, Yorkton, Moosomin, Weyburn and Carry the Kettle First Nation. The Premier will be joined in the first week by Deputy Premier and Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization Minister Clay Serby; Health Minister John Nilson and Community Resources and Employment Minister Glenn Hagel. "My message on this tour will be that although we have accomplished much in such areas as health reform and economic growth, we have much yet to do," Calvert said. "Saskatchewan people have been very receptive to the bus tour, and I am looking forward to hearing from the people we visit in rural and urban Saskatchewan as well as in First Nation communities." The "Dialogue with Saskatchewan" bus tour will visit communities in the province's northwest in Week 2 (July 22nd - 26th) and the province's northeast in Week 3 (August 5th - 9th). -30- For More Information, Contact:
