News Release - June 5, 2003 CENTENARY FUND CONTRIBUTES TO WARMAN FIRE HALL
Warman area residents will now have a new fire hall thanks to a contribution from the province's Centenary Fund.
The province contributed $150,000 toward the cost of the $650,000 fire hall. Construction on the new fire hall will begin immediately and is expected to be completed this fall. The 13,440 sq ft. facility is large enough to house seven fire trucks as well as training and meeting rooms. The Warman Volunteer Fire Department serves residents of Warman and the surrounding area. "This new fire hall is an excellent example of the diverse ways that Saskatchewan people are partnering with government to improve on the excellent quality of life in Saskatchewan," Government Relations Minister Ron Osika said. "The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to support this project which will enhance the safety and well-being of the people of Warman." "After nine years of hard work and dedication, we are thrilled to be starting this project," Mayor Wally Davis said. "Today with the help of the provincial government, our dream becomes a reality." The Centenary Fund was set up to leave a legacy of Saskatchewan's Centennial for future generations. Leading up to the centennial celebrations in 2005, the government is funding projects that are of provincial or regional interest and develop municipal infrastructure. -30- For More Information, Contact:
