Highways and Infrastructure Minister Wayne Elhard is reminding motorists to travel safely this weekend and to be aware of ongoing construction projects when travelling.
"Lots of work is occuring on the provincial highways system this summer," Elhard said. "We want to ensure motorists are aware of conditions so they can plan the most efficient and enjoyable route possible. We would also like to remind motorists to slow to 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment, use caution and be prepared to stop as directed."
Highway 1
- The new twinning lanes of Highway 1 at, and to the west of Moosomin are under construction adjacent to the existing lanes.
Highway 2
- A temporary detour is in place on Highway 2 west of Rockglen while bridge work is underway.
Highway 4
- Highway 4 work is underway on the Battlefords Bridge. Traffic is reduced to one lane in the northbound lane.
Highway 5
- Highway 5 from about 2 km east of Buchanan to about 9 km west of Buchanan is having a micro-surfacing treatment applied. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 8
- Highway 8 is under construction in the following areas:
o From its junction with Highway 13 to its junction of Highway 48.
o From 24 km north of Moosomin to 16 km south of the Qu'Appelle River.
Highway 9
- Highway 9 from its junction with Highway 23 at Bertwell to 8 km northeast is having a micro-surfacing treatment applied. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 10
- Highway 10 from 8 km west of Fort Qu'Appelle to 46 km east of Balgonie is being surfaced with traffic reduced to one lane.
Highway 11
- Highway 11 from north of Osler to south of Hague has nearby twinning construction. Be aware of blowing dust.
- Highway 11 from its junction with Highway 2 south of Prince Albert to about 11 km southwest has nearby twinning construction. Be aware of blowing dust.
Highway 13
- Highway 13 from 6 km west of its north junction with Highway 36 to about 16 km east of Assiniboia is under construction.
Highway 20
- Highway 20 from 26 km north of its junction with Highway 15 to near its junction with Highway 16 is under construction. Please be aware of surface conditions.
Highway 21
- Highway 21 from 1 km north of Highway 55 at Pierceland to about 10 km north is under construction. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 26
- Highway 26 from about St. Walburg north for 13 km is being surfaced. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 35
- Highway 35 from Elfros to Wadena is being paved. Please be aware of surface conditions, along with traffic being reduced to one lane.
- Be aware of a detour on the access road from Ridgedale to Highway 35 while bridge work is underway.
Highway 39
- Expect delays and a detour on Highway 39 just east of Estevan while bridge work is underway.
Highway 41
- Highway 41 from about 2 km east of Meskanaw to about 6 km east of Yellow Creek is being surfaced. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 48
- Highway 48 from 23 km west of its junction with Highway 8 to Highway 9 is under construction.
Highway 123
- Highway 123 from its junction with Highway 55 to about 4 km north is having a micro-surfacing treatment applied. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Hwy 155
- Highway 155 from about 18 km north of its junction with Highway 165 near Beauval to about 36 km north is being surfaced. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 320
- Highway 320 is under construction from its junction with Highway 2 near Domremy to its junction with Highway 20. Please expect delays and use caution.
Highway 368
- Highway 368 is under construction from south of Lake Lenore going north.
Highway 911
- Various sections of Highway 911 from about 4 km north of its junction with Highway 106 to about 10 km south of Deschambault Lake Village are under construction. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 924
- Highway 924 from 8 km to about 18 km north of its junction with Highway 55 is under construction. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
Highway 956
- Highway 956 from about 16.6 km to 44 km west of its junction with Highway 155 south of La Loche is under construction. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
