PREMIER WALL EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES TO FAMILY OF FALLEN SASKATCHEWAN SOLDIER

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall today expressed sincere condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Master Corporal Joshua Brian Roberts. Master Cpl. Roberts died in action in the Shari district of Afghanistan on Saturday.

"Tami and I would like his family and friends to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time of great loss, as are the thoughts and prayers of all Saskatchewan people," Wall said.

"Master Cpl. Robert's death is a tragedy, and it's a reminder to us all that we must honour the sacrifices being made around the world by young Canadian men and women, as they fight to secure safety for those of us back home, and peace and democracy to countries like Afghanistan," Wall said.

In honour of Master Cpl. Robert's supreme sacrifice, flags at the Saskatchewan Legislature will be flown at half-mast until after his funeral.
