LANGENBURG BUSINESSMAN CONVICTED ON LABOUR STANDARDS CHARGES

Jason Radbourne, operating as JCR Renovating & Bobcat Service in Langenburg has pleaded guilty to two charges under Saskatchewan's Labour Standards Act and been fined $690 in Yorkton Provincial Court.

Radbourne was charged with failing to pay final wages to two employees within 14 days after termination of employment. Four additional charges against Radbourne under the Labour Standards Act were stayed in court.

The Labour Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The Labour Standards Act and regulations as well as other labour legislation. Whenever necessary, violations will be prosecuted.

In the past twelve months, Labour Standards has convicted six employers for violating different provisions of the legislation. Additional prosecutions against seven employers are currently pending.
