SASKATCHEWAN CELEBRATES ENGINEERING AND GEOSCIENCE WEEK

From buildings to bridges, railways to roads and power plants to water treatment facilities, engineers and geoscientists make an invaluable contribution to our province and communities.

To honour this important profession and Saskatchewan's more than 3,000 professional engineers and geoscientists, the week of March 2nd to 8th has been officially proclaimed "Engineering and Geoscience Week" in Saskatchewan.

"Saskatchewan's professional engineers and geoscientists impact our daily lives in innumerable ways," Highways and Transportation Minister Mark Wartman said. "Saskatchewan Highways and Transportation is proud of our association with these men and women."

"Engineers and geoscientists can be proud of belonging to a profession whose members share a commitment to enhance the quality of life, health, safety and well-being of Canadians," Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan President Art Opseth said. "I thank the province for officially recognizing our profession and our people."
