GOVERNMENT WEBSITE ENHANCED

Web users will find the new Government of Saskatchewan central website easier to navigate. The website has been updated and redesigned so that it is easier for people to find the information and services they are looking for online with additional options available on the website. In addition to the fresh look, some of the latest web technologies have also been applied.

"The Internet has become one of the most popular sources for government information and services, with more than 20 million people visiting the site since its initial launch in 2000," Premier Lorne Calvert said. "More and more people, young and old, are turning to the Internet for services and answers to a variety of questions and we're hoping the revamped Government of Saskatchewan website will help. I believe younger users will find some of the new features both educational and fun."

New features of the site include enhanced multimedia, audience-specific links to help users find information, enhanced search capabilities and an educational-based "fun zone".

"This is just the first step in improving government-operated web services," Calvert said. "In order to provide consistency to users, in the coming months the new look and enhanced  features will be incorporated into all executive government department sites. We remain committed to offering as many government services online as possible."

The Government of Saskatchewan central Web portal can be found at http://www.gov.sk.ca/.
