PREMIER’S AWARD PRESENTED TO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES

Premier Brad Wall presented the 2011 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service today.

"It is my pleasure to recognize men and women from our public service whose work has affected the lives of every person in our great province for the better," Wall said. "These individuals, from across the spectrum of government, have made Saskatchewan's communities better places to work, live and raise a family, and for that I thank them."

The Premier's Award for Excellence recognizes public service employees in three categories: Innovation, Quality Service and Leadership.

The individual recipients are:

• Lisa Boire, Public Service-Wide LEAN Initiative - Public Service Commission (Leadership)
• Dean Elliott, Science Resources with First Nations and Métis Knowledge - Education (Innovation)

The team recipients are:

• Potash Task Force Team - led by Energy and Resources (Leadership)
• Provincial Emergency Response Team - led by Corrections, Public Safety and Policing (Leadership)
• Provincial Partnership Committee on Missing Persons Team - led by Justice and Attorney General (Innovation)
• Trans Canada Highway #1 Washout Project Team - Highways and Infrastructure (Quality Service)
• Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course Development Team - led by Labour Relations and Workplace Safety (Innovation)

Individuals or teams from government ministries, most Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee.
