News Release - November 25, 2004 UPGRADING THREE REGINA SCHOOLS
The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $280,000 on improvements to three schools in Regina.
"The provincial government is committed to providing modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students and teachers," Learning Minister Andrew Thomson said. "We are investing in schools, in students and in the future of Saskatchewan." Luther College High School will receive $176,000 for gymnasium restorations and the Regina Catholic School Division will receive $104,000 for roof restorations at St. Dominic Savio Elementary School and St. Josaphat Elementary School. The projects will be cost-shared with Luther College High School and the Regina Catholic school division. The provincial government is investing $3 million in this first funding release of block capital projects for the next fiscal year to improve the learning environment in 32 K-12 Saskatchewan schools. Additional capital projects will be announced throughout the 2005-06 fiscal year. "Schools today are more important than ever as vital centres of our communities," Thomson said.
