News Release - November 1, 2005 MOOSE JAW REDA TO HOST FINANCING WORKSHOP
The Moose Jaw Regional Economic Development Authority (REDA) and partners will host a financing workshop Nov. 2nd in Moose Jaw.
The event, called "Working Through the Financial Maze", will offer information on conventional financing tools that can be used in innovative ways to finance an existing business expansion or potential new business venture across a variety of industry sectors. "Financing is one of the biggest obstacles in the start-up of a new business," Deputy Premier and Rural Development Minister Clay Serby said. "This workshop will deliver valuable information to entrepreneurs enabling them to determine which financing option or combination of options will work best to move their project forward." Workshop presenters will highlight various financing options. These include accessing venture capital, raising share capital and attracting immigrant investment, as well as financing options available through lending institutions and through Saskatchewan Rural Development's Small Business Loans Associations and Youth Opportunities Unleashed programs. The workshop responds to the needs of primary producers, as well as existing and aspiring agricultural processing businesses. "Anyone looking at a new or expanded business opportunity in the agri-business, processing, manufacturing or tourism sectors will benefit from this workshop, as it will explore several financing options," Moose Jaw REDA strategic development officer Jim Dixon said. Saskatchewan Rural Development partnered with the Moose Jaw REDA, South Central Community Futures, Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce, Western Economic Diversification and Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food to make this workshop possible. -30- For More Information, Contact:
