IMPROVED CELL COVERAGE FOR SASKATOON, CRAVEN, MAPLE CREEK AND TOMPKINS

SaskTel today announced improved CDMA digital cellular coverage in the SIAST Kelsey Campus area of Saskatoon; at Craven; and along Highway 1 between Maple Creek and Tompkins. Customers in Saskatoon can expect improved in-building coverage in and around the SIAST Kelsey Campus area. Customers in Craven can expect improved coverage in town and at the Craven Country Jamboree site. And with the addition of a new tower site at Sidewood, customers can expect improved coverage along Highway 1 between Tompkins and Maple Creek.

"SaskTel continues to expand digital cellular coverage across the province, to the benefit of both residential and business customers," Minister Responsible for SaskTel Bill Boyd said. "These ongoing improvements will ensure that SaskTel's network continues to lead with the best coverage in Saskatchewan."

"SaskTel understands that reliable coverage is critical for many of our customers," SaskTel President and CEO Robert Watson said. "Digital cellular service provides excellent call clarity and provides wireless customers with access to e-mail, corporate databases and the internet. We will continue to evaluate the network to provide our cellular customers with the latest wireless technologies over the largest wireless network in the province."

Digital cellular service provides advanced functionality that allows customers to use the newest and most innovative services such as sending and receiving text, picture and video messages, communicating via push-to-talk service, browsing the internet, downloading video clips, watching streaming video, performing banking transactions and accessing real-time information such as news, weather and stock quotes all from their cell phone.
