PREMIER’S AWARD PRESENTED TO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES

Premier Brad Wall presented the 2008-09 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service today.

"These public employees have consistently gone the extra mile to serve the citizens of our province," Wall said. "Their innovation, leadership and dedication to the people of Saskatchewan will continue to serve us well as we move forward to strengthen and grow our province."

The Premier's Award for Excellence recognizes public service employees in three categories: Innovation, Quality Service and Leadership.

The individual recipients are:

  • Joan Nielsen - Education - Leadership; and
  • Karen Unger - Social Services - Quality Service.

The team recipients are:

  • Grants Administration Unit - Municipal Affairs - Quality Service; 
  • Immigration Services Division - Advanced Education, Employment and Labour - Quality Service;
  • Orphan Well and Facility Liability Team - Energy and Resources - Quality Service; and
  • The Auger Box Team - Highways and Infrastructure - Innovation.

Individuals or teams from government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee.
