News Release - May 21, 1999 CASINO FUNDS SUPPORT CHILDREN IN OXBOW AND AREA
Municipal Affairs, Culture and Housing Minister Carol Teichrob today
announced that the Moose Mountain Regional Recreation Association has received $3,500 in casino profits through the Associated Entities Fund. "The province established the Associated Entities Fund to distribute a portion of casino profits for the benefit of Saskatchewan people," Teichrob said. "Since the beginning of 1997 more than $4.5 million in casino profits have been distributed throughout Saskatchewan for programs that support children, youth and families." The Moose Mountain Regional Association, Zone 1 South East Sports Council and community recreation boards have partnered to provide a mobile playground program for children aged five - 12. This program offers arts, crafts, storytelling, field trips and sports to children in communities that do not have organized recreational programming.
