SOD TURNED FOR NEW MEADOW LAKE PROVINCIAL COURT FACILITY

A sod-turning ceremony was held today to mark the next step in the development of the new Meadow Lake Provincial Court facility.

"Providing suitable court houses and increasing access to courts in northern Saskatchewan is a priority for our government," Justice Minister Frank Quennell said. "The development of a new court facility in Meadow Lake will offer improved space and security for witnesses, victims, judges, counsel, staff, accused and the public."

The Government of Saskatchewan will spend $700,000 this year to complete planning and architectural drawings and purchase the land for the new Meadow Lake Provincial Court.

This phase of the project will include broad consultation with court users from Meadow Lake and the surrounding area.
