CENTENARY FUND CONTRIBUTES TO INDIAN HEAD MEMORIAL HALL UPGRADE

People in Indian Head are now enjoying a newly upgraded memorial hall thanks to a contribution from the province's Centenary Fund.

The province contributed $50,000 toward the cost of the $95,000 construction project. The upgrade included replacing the aging heating system and installing insulation, fire-retarding the ceiling, and energy efficient lighting.

"This newly upgraded hall is testimony to the creative ways that Saskatchewan people are partnering with government to build on the excellent quality of life in Saskatchewan," Government Relations Minister Ron Osika said. "The people in Indian Head now have a modern, energy-efficient facility to host community events."

"The citizens of Indian Head would like to thank the provincial government for the Centenary Fund grant assistance, which helped the town to renovate our Memorial Hall," Mayor Dave McCall said. "Co-operation between the province and the town will benefit Indian Head and area residents for many years to come."

The Centenary Fund was set up to leave a legacy of Saskatchewan's Centennial for future generations. Leading up to the centennial celebrations in 2005, the government is funding projects that are of provincial or regional interest and develop municipal infrastructure.
