PREMIER CALVERT EXPRESSES CONDOLENCE IN RELATION TO AIR CRASH

Premier Lorne Calvert has expressed his sincerest condolences to the family of a victim in a tragic accident involving a Government of Saskatchewan water bomber.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of this individual. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and with the others involved in the accident and their families," Calvert said. "These are heroes amongst us who protect our northern forests, and carry out an important duty on our behalf."

This accident, involving three people on board, occurred near the La Ronge airport earlier today.

RCMP have confirmed one person has died and two others have sustained undetermined injuries.

Environment Minister John Nilson left immediately to be at the Air Operations Centre in LaRonge.
