News Release - August 8, 2009 ARREST MADE IN DUCK SHOOTING POSTED ON INTERNETEarlier today, Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers and Environment Canada Wildlife Enforcement Officers, assisted by the RCMP, arrested three Saskatchewan residents in connection with a video posted on the Internet depicting the indiscriminate shooting of migratory birds. The individuals were taken into custody and warrants were executed to search the individuals' residences for further evidence. An unprecedented public reaction to the content of the video led to a significant number of calls to the Turn in Poachers (TIP) line in both Saskatchewan and Alberta. Information from these calls led to the three individuals' arrests.
