ANGUISH ANNOUNCES HIS RESIGNATION AS CABINET MINISTER AND MLA
Labour Minister Doug Anguish today announced his resignation from
Cabinet and as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for North
Battleford. Both resignations take effect July 1, 1996.
Anguish will be leaving the province at that time to pursue a new
career opportunity in another jurisdiction. Details will be announced
"This decision comes after much soul searching by Mona, our children
and myself," Anguish said. "Politics has dominated our lives for the
past 21 years, and while it saddens me to leave, a new career
opportunity outside the political arena has presented itself.
"I would like to thank my constituents in the North Battleford area for
the honour of serving this great province. I continue to be a strong
supporter of the Romanow government, and I know it will continue to
offer the people of Saskatchewan a strong and effective government."
"I want to thank Doug for his important contributions to Saskatchewan's
public life," Premier Roy Romanow said. "While it saddens me to lose a
valued minister and MLA, I respect the decision Doug and his family
have made and wish them the very best."
