UPGRADING SWIFT CURRENT SCHOOL

The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $242,000 for a roof replacement at Swift Current Comprehensive High School.

"The provincial government is committed to providing modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students and teachers," Learning Minister Andrew Thomson said. "We are investing in schools, in students and in the future of Saskatchewan."

The project will be cost-shared with the Swift Current Comprehensive School Division.

The provincial government is investing $3 million in this first funding release of block capital projects for the next fiscal year to improve the learning environment in 32 K-12 Saskatchewan schools. Additional capital projects will be announced throughout the 2005-06 fiscal year.

"Schools today are more important than ever as vital centres of our communities," Thomson said. "We need to continue to upgrade learning facilities so they can continue to serve Saskatchewan communities well."
