News Release - November 9, 2004 PREMIERS CHALLENGE EACH OTHER ON WESTERN FINAL
There's something fishy about a friendly wager involving the Canadian Football League Western final this Sunday between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the British Columbia Lions.
Saskatchewan Premier Lorne Calvert has bet B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell that the Riders will roll over the Lions on their march to the Grey Cup. "The Roughriders are a big part of what makes this province great," Calvert said. "The team is on a roll this year and all Saskatchewan people are behind them." Calvert is so confident in the Roughriders that he has pledged to send Campbell ten pounds of bison steaks in the unlikely event of a B.C victory. However, if the Roughriders win the game Campbell has agreed to send Calvert ten pounds of B.C. wild salmon. The Western Division Final takes place at B.C. Place stadium in Vancouver on Sunday. The winning team advances to the 92nd Grey Cup Championship in Ottawa on Nov. 21st. -30- For More Information, Contact:
