News Release - May 27, 1999 REGIONAL COLLEGES GET FUNDING FOR FACILITIES
Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training Minister Maynard Sonntag
today announced funding of $150,000 for Cypress Hills Regional College in Swift Current for exterior maintenance. "The exterior walls of the facility in Swift Current are in need of repair," Sonntag said. "We want to prevent structural deterioration and ensure it is a safe learning environment for students and staff. Investing in capital projects such as this is an investment in students and our future." Funding for several other projects at Regional Colleges throughout the province has already been announced this year. The provincial government has invested a total of $1.5 million in capital funding for Regional Colleges. "Supporting our education and training system helps students throughout the province to get training and find jobs close to home," Sonntag said. "Regional Colleges play a key role in developing a skilled workforce, a primary goal of our Saskatchewan Training Strategy.
