REGIONAL COLLEGES GET FUNDING FOR FACILITIES

Post-Secondary Education and Skills Training Minister Maynard Sonntag

today announced funding of $150,000 for Cypress Hills Regional College

in Swift Current for exterior maintenance.

"The exterior walls of the facility in Swift Current are in need of

repair," Sonntag said. "We want to prevent structural deterioration

and ensure it is a safe learning environment for students and staff.

Investing in capital projects such as this is an investment in

students and our future."

Funding for several other projects at Regional Colleges throughout the

province has already been announced this year. The provincial

government has invested a total of $1.5 million in capital funding for

Regional Colleges.

"Supporting our education and training system helps students

throughout the province to get training and find jobs close to home,"

Sonntag said. "Regional Colleges play a key role in developing a

skilled workforce, a primary goal of our Saskatchewan Training

Strategy. "
