2008 IS HEALTH CARD RENEWAL YEAR IN SASKATCHEWAN

This month, Saskatchewan people have been receiving packages in the mail containing renewal stickers for their Saskatchewan Health Services card. Current health cards expire December 31, 2008.

"The Ministry of Health is once again offering stickers to update residents' Health Services cards rather than incur the cost of reprinting the cards," Health Minister Don McMorris said. "This has proven to be an economical means of updating this necessary card."

When received, residents are asked to place the 2008 sticker on the upper right front corner of their health card immediately. The new sticker validates the health services card until December 31, 2011, and ensures continued access to valuable health benefits.

The renewal package also includes:

  1. an organ and tissue donor consent card and a red donor sticker to be placed on the health card should residents consider this valuable gift; and
  2. HealthLine stickers to be placed on or near a phone for easy access to 24/7 health advice.

People who have not yet received a Health Services card renewal package in their mail, are asked to contact Saskatchewan Health Registration toll-free at 1-800-667-7551, in Regina at 787-3251 or online at: www.health.gov.sk.ca.
