News Release - October 6, 2005 A THANKSGIVING MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER OF SASKATCHEWAN
On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, I am pleased to offer warm greetings as we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.
We have many things to be thankful for in our great province. This past year, we have had the unique opportunity of commemorating Saskatchewan's centenary, and in celebrating this occasion our thoughts naturally turn to the many wonderful things Saskatchewan people appreciate. We have beauty overhead and around us, and we have rich resources under our feet. We have fertile farmlands, bountiful forests, advanced technology, a growing manufacturing sector and an ever-increasing number of value-added enterprises. We are especially proud of our publicly funded health care system, our education system that places us among the highest-educated people in the world, and our internationally recognized social programs. Our province's motto is "From many peoples strength," and there is no doubt that our people are our greatest strength. We are an innovative and tolerant people who want to live in peace and harmony with each other, who value equal rights and opportunities for all, and who accept and celebrate our differences as well as our similarities. As you gather with your family and friends, I hope you will find many blessings for which to be thankful. Betty and our family join with me in wishing you a wonderful holiday. Happy Thanksgiving, and God bless. -30- For More Information, Contact:
