AMBER ALERT LAUNCHED IN SASKATCHEWAN

AMBER Alert, a voluntary partnership between police agencies and broadcasters to send out an emergency alert to the public in the most serious child or at-risk person abduction cases, has been officially launched in Saskatchewan.

The goal of AMBER Alert is immediate delivery of information to the public that will assist in the search for and safe return of the abducted person. The delivery of information will be done through law enforcement communication systems and broadcasters.

Saskatchewan's AMBER Plan is a partnership of the Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police, the Saskatchewan Association of Broadcasters, Canadian Border Services, Child Find Saskatchewan, SaskTel and the Saskatchewan Department of Justice.
