MOOSE JAW SPECIAL NEEDS HOME RECEIVES FUNDING

Community Resources and Employment Minister Glenn Hagel today announced one-time provincial funding of $30,000 toward the replacement of a group home for special needs' residents in Moose Jaw.

The existing bi-level home, operated by the non-profit group Citizens All, will be replaced to meet the wheelchair accessibility requirements of its residents and provide a more comfortable living environment.

"The province and non-profit groups such as Citizens All are working together to ensure that people with special needs are able to enjoy quality housing and an independent lifestyle," Hagel said. "The province is responding to the present and future needs of people with disabilities and the replacement group home will have space for an additional resident."

Moose Jaw's Citizens All is a non-profit group that operates six group homes and a supportive living program for people with intellectual and physical disabilities in the community.
