News Release - September 13, 2010 PROVINCIAL, TERRITORIAL AND FEDERAL MINISTERS OF HEALTH MEET IN ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLANDMultiple sclerosis, childhood obesity and medical isotopes are three of the issues on the agenda at this year's meeting of Health Ministers in St. John's, Newfoundland. Saskatchewan Health Minister Don McMorris is in St. John's today and tomorrow to meet with his counterparts from across the country. "We all know someone who is living with MS, or who has been touched by this disease. Saskatchewan is fully prepared to financially support further clinical research related to new treatments for individuals with MS," McMorris said. "We are keenly interested in the Liberation Treatment pioneered by Italian surgeon Dr. Paolo Zamboni and adding to the scientific research into MS treatments overall. I look forward to discussing these issues with my colleagues from across Canada." McMorris added that Saskatchewan wants to advance the scientific understanding of treatment and therapies that will help MS patients in Saskatchewan.
