LONG TERM SERVICE AWARD FOR YORKTON VOLUNTEERS

Two Yorkton residents are being officially recognized for long term volunteer service to the community.

Social Services Minister Glenn Hagel announced today that Loreen Poier and Irving Fraser, volunteers with the Yorkton Housing Authority, will receive pins and certificates recognizing their ten years of service.

"Loreen Poier and Irving Fraser exemplify the volunteers who enable Social Services and the Yorkton Housing Authority to provide affordable housing to low income families and seniors in the community," Hagel said.

Saskatchewan's network of 280 housing authorities depends on nearly 1,500 volunteers throughout the province. The Yorkton Housing Authority, formed in 1969, manages 260 housing units and is supported by the work of seven volunteer board members.
