WEEKLY PROVINCIAL HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Motorists are advised to be aware of provincial highway construction projects as they travel this summer to their favourite destinations.

"This weekly ‘snapshot' of work, coupled with our Highway Hotline service, can help you plan a more efficient and safer trip by knowing where you may expect delays due to construction that's at various stages," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter said. "Remember to watch out for the Orange Zone, be alert and be prepared to stop as directed and keep in mind that drivers who exceed 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment face a base fine of $140."

New work to be underway includes some seal coating on Highway 11 near Davidson and some expected paving work on Highway 39 near McTaggart. For more details and a list of other ongoing and longer-term projects that may impact motorist travel, please see the attached backgrounder.
