MUSIC INDUSTRY SURVEY OFFERS TWO TICKETS TO THE 2007 JUNO AWARDS IN SASKATOON

MUSIC INDUSTRY SURVEY OFFERS TWO TICKETS TO THE 2007 JUNO AWARDS IN SASKATOON

Saskatoon’s 2007 Juno Award excitement has gripped the entire province and now the Government of Saskatchewan is offering residents a chance to win two tickets to the awards ceremony by simply filling out an online survey.

The online survey is part of phase two of the Music Industry Review currently underway in the province.  The intent of the survey is to gain public feedback on the music industry and music consumption in Saskatchewan.

“The two Juno Award tickets are a great incentive to participate in filling out this survey, but with all that’s going on this year it’s also an ideal time to get people thinking about the benefits of a healthy music industry in Saskatchewan,” Legislative Secretary to the Premier Joanne Crofford said.  “Saskatchewan’s music industry is an attractant for youth and tourism; it contributes greatly to our economy and is culturally priceless.”

In May of 2006, Joanne Crofford, Legislative Secretary to the Premier, was appointed to examine the music industry.  Since that time industry consultations have been on-going, and have generated a consultants’ report and interim recommendations to assist the industry.

The online survey must be completed by March 22, 2007 as the draw date for the tickets is March 23, 2007.  The Music Industry Review Online Survey can be filled out at www.cyr.gov.sk.ca or at www.saskmusic.org.
