News Release - December 7, 2009 SASKWATER PRESIDENT RETIRES AFTER 36 YEARS WITH GOVERNMENTAfter more than seven years as SaskWater President and 36 years as a provincial government employee, Stuart Kramer has announced his retirement. Kramer's last day on the job at SaskWater will be Jan. 3, 2010. "On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, I would like to thank Stuart for his 36 years of dedicated service to the province," Minister responsible for SaskWater Nancy Heppner said. "I wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement." During his time in government, Kramer has worked for 23 different Ministers in seven different Ministries and Crown Corporations. "I feel very privileged to have been able to serve the province in these various exciting and challenging roles throughout my career," Kramer said. "The opportunity to give leadership at SaskWater has been extremely interesting and rewarding." Kramer was appointed to the dual role of SaskWater and Saskatchewan Watershed Authority President in October 2002 when the new SaskWater was established with the proclamation of The Saskatchewan Water Corporation Act (2002). Through this Act, SaskWater became a self-supporting, commercial Crown corporation providing water, wastewater and related services to municipalities, industry and rural water associations in the province. The Saskatchewan Watershed Authority was responsible for watershed management and source water protection. In 2007, Kramer was given the sole responsibility as SaskWater President and made Chair of the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority Board.
