News Release - September 12, 2008 PREMIER WALL PAYS TRIBUTE TO CORNER GAS AS IT WRAPS UP PRODUCTIONPremier Brad Wall today applauded the cast and crew of the Corner Gas team as they wrapped up their final season of production. The highly acclaimed series has given Saskatchewan people a chance to share their own quirky sense of humour and prairie sensibility with the rest of the world. The result is a hit show followed faithfully by viewers and praised by critics around the globe. "The people of Saskatchewan are humble, yet proud and their true nature shines through on this show. Corner Gas is proof there's a lot goin' on in Saskatchewan," Wall said in reference to the show's title song. "I want to thank Saskatchewan's own Brent Butt and the Corner Gas producers, cast and crew for showing Saskatchewan off to the world and for sharing stories that highlight the easygoing, fun-loving nature of Saskatchewan people," Wall said. Corner Gas has been Canada's #1 comedy since it premiered in 2004, and the series also secured a U.S. distribution deal that put our stories into living rooms in 26 countries across five continents.
