News Release - March 19, 2009 NEW CHIEF OF PROTOCOL NAMEDMarc Boucher has been named the new Chief of Protocol for the Province of Saskatchewan. Boucher is on secondment from the federal government as part of the Inter-Change Canada program. He has previously worked as part of the senior management team that established the Consulate General of Canada in Denver Colorado, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the Consulate's advocacy program. He has also served in a senior management role with Aboriginal Business Canada and as Special Projects Co-ordinator for Arctic Co-operatives Limited. In his new role, Boucher will oversee the Protocol Office, which is responsible for official visits by members of the Royal Family and other visiting dignitaries. The Protocol Office also administers the Saskatchewan Honours and Awards Program and is responsible for policy development and authorization of provincial emblems and for the interpretation and enforcement of The Provincial Emblems and Honours Act. "I'm delighted that Mr. Boucher has accepted the position of Chief of Protocol," Provincial Secretary Wayne Elhard said.
