SASK GAMING MAKES OFFER TO PUBLIC SERVICE ALLIANCE OF CANADA

Last week Sask Gaming presented the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) with an offer that included 5.5 per cent in total increased compensation over a three year period and a realignment of existing provisions within the collective agreement to address some of the union's priorities.

"Our offer is fair and includes remuneration that is competitive with other corporations in the gaming and hospitality industry," Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Vice President of Human Resources Blaine Pilatzke said.

The offer included two options, both with improvements to health care benefits. Option one would provide PSAC members with a wage increase of 7 per cent over the three-year period as well as a weekday night shift premium. Option two would provide a wage increase of 7.5 per cent over the three-year period, and a premium of 25 cents per hour for specific classes of employees who deal or supervise major table games, as well as the weekday night shift premium.

Each of these options requires a realignment of existing collective agreement provisions.

PSAC represents approximately 465 employees at Casino Regina who have been striking since June 3, 2010.

Additional details on Sask Gaming's compensation strategy, benefits and the offers presented are available in an attached background document.
