HIRING FOR THE BEST SUMMER JOB EVER

Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport today announced a contest to hire a student for the best summer job ever.

The job includes travelling around the province, discovering what makes Saskatchewan great and then blogging about it through writing, photos and video.

"The purpose of this pilot project is to market the province and engage a younger generation - both key to making Saskatchewan stronger," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Bill Hutchinson said. "Those of us who live here already know Saskatchewan is special - now we are working on sharing our story with the world."

Students who are interested can apply at www.saskatchewanderer.ca. Submissions will be accepted from February 28 to March 11 at noon.

Once the top candidates are selected, their application submissions will be posted online for the public to vote. The contest will go through a few phases before the Saskatchewanderer is chosen.

"The contest helps build an audience for the Saskatchewanderer, before the winner even starts blogging about the province," Hutchinson said. "Our ministry's mandate includes celebrating and building pride in Saskatchewan - this is a unique way to do just that."
