PREMIER'S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

There is no better place to spend the Christmas season than right here in Saskatchewan.

From our rolling, snow-covered prairie to our bustling, vibrant communities to our vast, resource-rich north… ours is a province tailor-made for the Christmas season.

But friends, Saskatchewan and Christmas are a perfect fit for reasons that go far beyond weather, geography and economy.

The people of this province demonstrate year-round the kindness and giving nature that symbolize the season.

From the volunteer braving the elements to collect charitable donations… to the person who spends hours preparing a Christmas supper… to the stranger who offers to boost your frozen car … to the family that welcomes an immigrant to our midst.

This year, our holiday season is made even more special because it leads us into our province's Centennial year. The perfect time to reflect on 100 years of heart. 100 years of giving, sharing, and progress. 100 years of this amazing place called Saskatchewan.

It's also a time to look forward to what the future holds for the youth of this great province in much the same way that a child looks forward to Christmas morning.

I can think of no better time than Christmas to rejoice in the gifts of hope and opportunity that are here for all of Saskatchewan to share in during our province's second century.

Together with our family, my wife Betty and I would like to extend to you and yours a warm Merry Christmas, and best wishes for a very special New Year.
