NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR SASKATCHEWAN YOUTH AWARD

If you know someone between the ages of 15 and 24 years of age who deserves recognition for their personal achievements or contributions to their community, you can now nominate him or her for the Saskatchewan Youth Award.

"We live in a province rich with resources and opportunities to make a difference, within our communities and beyond," Premier Brad Wall said. "The Saskatchewan Youth Award is an opportunity to pay tribute to the talented, innovative and caring youth who help make Saskatchewan the best place in Canada to live."

All nominations are adjudicated by an independent committee, comprised of members of the Saskatchewan Honours Advisory Council and youth representatives. Each year, nominees will be recommended based on a broad range of achievements and endeavours including, but not limited to, leadership, volunteerism, innovation, artistic or cultural accomplishments, academic excellence, athletics and other personal achievements.

The nomination deadline is January 30, 2009. To obtain a nomination form, or for more information on the Saskatchewan Youth Award, call toll-free 1-877-427-5505 or visit the website at www.ops.gov.sk.ca.
