News Release - May 3, 2007 PREMIER ANNOUNCES ROYAL VISITPremier Lorne Calvert announced today that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal (Princess Anne) will visit Saskatchewan from June 1-4, 2007. “This province has been fortunate to host several members of the Royal Family in recent years,” Calvert said. “We look forward to reacquainting The Princess Royal with our rich history and the diversity of our people.” The main purpose of the visit is to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Regina Rifles. The Princess is Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Regina Rifles, a regiment that has served its city, province and country in times of peace and war throughout the century. Other engagements of Her Royal Highness will be announced at a later date. “We are pleased that as our Colonel-in-Chief, The Princess accepted our invitation to join the Royal Regina Rifles anniversary celebrations,” Commanding Officer of the Royal Regina Rifles Lieutenant-Colonel Murray D.
