News Release - August 8, 2008 WEEKEND REMINDER ABOUT HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTIONHighways and Infrastructure Minister Wayne Elhard is again reminding motorists to drive safely this weekend and to watch for new and ongoing construction projects when traveling. "We hope you have a good weekend, but please remember there is a significant amount of activity taking place on our highways this summer," Elhard said. "It is important to take into account construction zones and to plan the best and safest route possible. Also, remember to slow to 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment, use caution and be prepared to stop as directed." New Work (Please see backgrounder for a complete list of ongoing work.) Highway 7 - Resurfacing from the junction of Highway 60 to 1 km south and from 7 km west of Deslisle to 11 km west. Traffic may be reduced to one lane. Highway 12 - Resurfacing from north of the junction of Highway 11 to 7 km north. Traffic may be reduced to one lane. Highway 16 - Resurfacing from north of Saskatoon's Circle Drive to west of Marquis Drive southbound. Traffic may be reduced to one lane. Highway 22 - Micro-surfacing is underway from the north junction of Highway 8 and 22 to 7 km west of the north junction near Gerald. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
