NEW BOARD MEMBERS APPOINTED TO KEEWATIN YATTHÉ REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY

Health Minister Don McMorris announced the appointment of Kenneth Thomas Iron of Canoe Narrows and Bruce Ruelling of La Loche to the Keewatin Yatthé Regional Health Authority.

Current board member Tina Rasmussen of Green Lake will serve as chairperson. Fellow board member Duane Favel of Ile a la Crosse will serve as vice-chairperson.

"These appointments will improve Keewatin Yatthé Health Region's ability to maintain access to quality health services," McMorris said. "I encourage the board members to work together to find solutions on a regional level. By working together, we can achieve a health system that is more efficient and family- and patient-centred."

The appointments are in effect until February 2012.

"I welcome the new members to our board, and look forward to putting their knowledge and experience to work on regional health issues," Keewatin Yatthé Health Region board chairperson Tina Rasmussen said. "With their help, we will continue to serve the unique needs of the people of our region."
