News Release - March 16, 2009 RECRUITING HEALTH PROVIDERS FROM IRELANDWith approximately 450 Canadian students studying medicine in Ireland, Saskatchewan's health recruitment agency is travelling to recruitment fairs in Dublin and Cork to attract physicians, nurses and other health care providers to Saskatchewan. "We're recruiting health professionals in a global marketplace that is extremely competitive," Health Minister Don McMorris said. "We know that many nurses, physicians and other health providers in Ireland are looking for work in other countries. So we're going to these fairs to tell them about Saskatchewan's great job opportunities and unprecedented economic growth and momentum." HealthCareersinSask.ca - is a no-fee, one-stop health care recruitment website connecting health workers with career opportunities in Saskatchewan's health regions and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. One health recruitment agency official will be accompanied by staff from Kelsey Trail, Saskatoon, Sun Country and Sunrise health regions, as well as the All Nations Healing Hospital in Fort Qu'Appelle. The College of Medicine and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan will also participate. The agency will meet with the Canadian medical students studying in Ireland, along with the College of Medicine and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
