JOIN CASINOS REGINA AND MOOSE JAW FOR RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING AWARENESS WEEK

Today kicks off a week of fun and educational events at Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw in celebration of Responsible Gambling Awareness Week.

"SaskGaming is mandated to offer casino gaming in a socially responsible manner," Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Ken Cheveldayoff said. "Responsible Gambling Awareness Week is a great opportunity for Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw, as well as our partner agencies, to share important information with our guests about the games we offer and encourage them to make healthy decisions."

From May 7 to 11, Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw will host a series of entertaining information sessions where guests will learn about key gaming concepts such as randomness and the house advantage, get tips on budgeting their time and money, explore the truth behind common gambling myths and much more.

"Responsible gaming is built into everything we do at SaskGaming," SaskGaming President and CEO Twyla Meredith said. "Our program combines industry-leading technology with a personal, guest-focused approach to help players make responsible choices and provide links to available support services if there is a problem."

SaskGaming's responsible gaming program includes mandatory responsible gaming training for all employees, Responsible Gaming Information Centres on the gaming floor at Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw, a team of specially-trained Responsible Gaming Specialists, an option for patrons to exclude themselves from the casinos for a specified period of time, license plate recognition technology to detect and deter excluded patrons, and an innovative computer program that assists in identifying patterns of play that may suggest an individual is experiencing difficulty with gambling.
