MOLSON PRICES TO INCREASE

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) has approved a price increase on all Molson products, effective May 11th, 2003.

Molson Breweries requested the increase which will see the price of one dozen bottled Molson beer products rise by 65 cents to $17.25, an increase of approximately five per cent.

Of the 65 cents per dozen increase, Molson will receive 34 cents; SLGA will receive 22 cents; and nine cents is a result of the taxes generated on the increase.

Even with the increase, the average retail price for one dozen bottled beer in Saskatchewan will be among the lowest in Canada.

Molson is the market share leader in Saskatchewan, accounting for approximately 55 per cent of all beer sales in Saskatchewan.
