PAVING PROJECT AWARDED ON HIGHWAY 11

Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced a

16.1 km paving project on Highway 11 west of Lumsden.



"This $ 1.17 million project is expected to start in mid June and is

planned for completion at the end of July," Bradley said. "An

estimated 20 jobs will be used in completing the project."



ASL Paving Ltd. was awarded the contract for the paving project as the

lowest of seven bidders. The paving project will be done on the south

bound lanes of Highway 11 from the Junction of Highway 20 at Lumsden

to 16.1 km west for a total distance of 16.1 km. The $1.16 million

project cost includes department-supplied materials and services.



"A $15 million increase in the department's budget this year means a

very busy construction season and crews will be working hard to

improve and repair Saskatchewan roads and highways," Bradley said.

"The increased funding demonstrates our commitment to preserving our

investment in Saskatchewan's highway system."
