News Release - October 6, 2010 ELKRIDGE RESORT FINED $14,000 FOR SAFETY VIOLATIONSThe Elkridge Golf and Conference Centre Inc., near Waskesiu, has pleaded guilty to four charges under Saskatchewan's Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and been fined a total of $14,000.
Elkridge Golf and Conference Centre Inc. pleaded guilty to: Two additional charges against the company were stayed in court. The charges against Elkridge were laid after a golf course employee was injured from being partially buried when the sides of a trench collapsed during the installation of new water and sewer pipes, on October 9, 2008. There have been 27 convictions for violations of Saskatchewan's Occupational Health and Safety legislation in 2010-11, compared with a total of 11 in the previous year. -30- For more information, contact:
